The Guild of Freemen is proud to support City Giving Day, a celebration of the remarkable efforts of City organisations in charitable giving and benevolence.
True to our founding objectives, the Guild has been providing charitable assistance for more than a century. Today, through our Guild of Freemen Charity (Reg. No. 227063), we provide grants, mentoring and other help to those with links to the City and neighbouring communities, including schools and fellow charities. This year we are again supporting the Lord Mayor’s Appeal, and in 2018 we are also delighted to have assisted the following organisations (with many more donations to be considered by the Trustees in October):
  • The Little Sisters of the Poor - to help with the cost of upgrading emergency lighting at St Anne’s Home.
  • For Jimmy - to fund a student place on its 6 week Safe Havens Programme
  • St Luke’s Community Centre
  • The Sheriffs’ and Recorder’s Fund
  • The RNLI Tower Bridge Station
None of this would be possible without the generosity and goodwill of our Guild members, whose support continues to make a difference to people’s lives.

""The Guild was formed in 1908 for all fellow Freemen of the City of London – today we number almost 1,600 members from all backgrounds, and from a wide range of professions. In addition, our Annual Programme is the City’s most extensive. It features events with privileged access for Members and their guests, ranging from opportunities to dine in London’s finest Livery Halls, to less formal activities. Our Annual Banquet is a highlight of the Guild’s calendar and attracts members from all over the world.
