Successful applicants are invited to participate in the Joining and Welcoming Ceremony, which takes place after a Court Meeting.
The Ceremony consists of the formal presentation and welcome of new members to the Master, Wardens and Court of Assistants and includes the Ceremony of the Loving Cup, conducted by the Master. Members are then invited to sign the Roll of the Guild and receive their Warrants of Membership.
After the Ceremony the Court will join new members, and their guests, for some refreshments. Many new members then continue their celebrations by attending the dinner which follows.
New members may apply to attend events from receipt of confirmation of membership, and need not wait until attending the Joining Ceremony.
""The Guild was formed in 1908 for all fellow Freemen of the City of London – today we number almost 1,600 members from all backgrounds, and from a wide range of professions. In addition, our Annual Programme is the City’s most extensive. It features events with privileged access for Members and their guests, ranging from opportunities to dine in London’s finest Livery Halls, to less formal activities. Our Annual Banquet is a highlight of the Guild’s calendar and attracts members from all over the world.
