Can you tell me about my ancestor who was a Freeman?

Please note that Freedom of the City is only granted by the City of London, which is separate from the Guild of Freemen and may be able to help with historical records held by the Corporation. Our own records of Guild members date from only 1942. email chamberlains.court@cityoflondon.gov.uk or call the Chamberlain’s Court on 020 7332 3055
