The Master and his wife are both Freemen of the Worshipful Company of Drapers and so selected this most beautiful hall for the first event of their year. Our guide, archivist Penny Fussell, conducted the tour and told us the history of the Hall and its many artefacts and fine art collection. We learned about the Drapers' Charitable Foundation and the work of the modern Company. We spent probably far too long looking at the beautifully illuminated Royal Charters and Grants of Arms and were positively awestruck by the magnificence of the Company silver. Many members and their guests took the opportunity to lunch in the Court Dining Room, where we were joined by the Master Draper.  A fine start to the new Master's year!
