The Master took us to House Mill in Bromley by Bow, where he is Chairman of the Trust. House Mill is the largest surviving tidal mill in the world and we had a guided tour of the whole site, learning about the Mill's rich history and its role in the development of the industries once found in the lower Lea Valley. After the fascinating tour we were treated to a gin tasting - the Mill supplied the adjacent gin distillery in the 19th century. We then enjoyed a hearty lunch with wine.
