Thursday 17th February 2022

Start: 2.30pm | Finish: 4.30pm

This event has passed

The Priory Church of St John was built in the 16th century but has a Norman crypt below. The nearby Museum of the Order of St John traces the continuous history of the charity that dates back over 900 years. It is situated in the gatehouse which has its origins from that time. The Museum tells the story of both the Order and St John’s Ambulance.

There will be two guided tour groups in the morning (event 3a) and two in the afternoon. The groups can all join up for an optional lunch at the Crown Tavern either after the morning or before the afternoon tours (See event 3c).

Before the tours begin there will be a short presentation on the St John’s Heritage Project. There will also be time to look around independently if desired before departure. There is no charge for the tour, but a donation (suggested £15) is requested
