At the invitation of Guild Member Alderman and Sheriff Robert Hughes-Penny, we will have a private tour of the Central Criminal Court of England and Wales, more commonly referred to as the Old Bailey, named after the street on which it stands. 
 
The Central Criminal Court (Old Bailey) is recognised as the most famous criminal court in the world (owned by the City of London Corporation), and is home to Robert and his fellow Sheriff, Guild Member, Deputy Keith Bottomley during their year in office.
 
The Guild’s visit will begin with a Drinks Reception followed by an informative tour that takes us from the stunning Great Hall to the sombre atmosphere of the holding cells, via Court Room Number 1, the scene of some of British justice’s most important and infamous trials.  Only a limited number of places are available, so this event will go to ballot.

There is no ticket cost to attend this event, but all attendees will be asked to make a donation to a Charity.
