The Master would like to thank Christine Cook for all her good work as Clerk to the Guild of Freemen of the City of London over the last 4 years and wish her a long and happy retirement. Ably assisted by Assistant Clerk Judith Westall, she has modernised the Guild’s processes and systems as well as updating the Governance structure. She has been a valued source of advice to the Court and has always gone above and beyond for members. She has always been organised and professional with a can-do attitude but most importantly great company. In addition she has done a great job in bringing new Clerk Jeremy Cross swiftly up to speed. The Guild will miss her as their Clerk but will continue to enjoy her company as a Lifetime Member of the Guild.
""The Guild was formed in 1908 for all fellow Freemen of the City of London – today we number almost 1,600 members from all backgrounds, and from a wide range of professions. In addition, our Annual Programme is the City’s most extensive. It features events with privileged access for Members and their guests, ranging from opportunities to dine in London’s finest Livery Halls, to less formal activities. Our Annual Banquet is a highlight of the Guild’s calendar and attracts members from all over the world.
