River Thames Cruise and Dinner
4 July 2007
On an evening of changeable weather Guild members and guests assembled near the Tower of London to board the Elizabethan, a beautiful replica of an 1890 Paddle Steamer, and then to enjoy dinner and a cruise along the River Thames.
After a reception on the top deck, members and guests adjourned to the lower deck for dinner. Meanwhile, the steamer gently sailed past the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, Chelsea Harbour and Putney Bridge.
To add a little light entertainment and jollity to the evening, the Master laid on a close-up magician to amuse and bewilder members and their guests, and a caricaturist to capture their expressions for posterity.
On the return journey, to add a final touch of sparkle to a wonderful evening, members and guests were able to watch London's Fourth of July fireworks display from the top deck.
