Visits to the Corum Founding Museum and the Dickens' Museum
14 November 2007
Wednesday 7 and Wednesday 14 November
After meeting for coffee in the cafe attached to the Corum Foundling Museum, members and their guests were divided into two groups. One group enjoyed a guided tour of the Corum Foundling Museum, following in the footsteps of such famous supporters of that famous establishment as the composer, George Frederic Handel, and the painter, William Hogarth, while the other group explored the museum that has been set up in a house a few minutes walk away, where Charles Dickens once lived.
A sustaining three-course lunch in the Italian bistro 'Ciao Bella', situated midway between the two museums, ensured that any slightly flagging limbs were quickly and fully restored, thereby ensuring that everyone enjoyed their afternoon visit to the museum thay had not previously visited.
