Visit to Lincoln's Inn and the Sir John Soane's Museum

28 April 2006

On a warm and sunny Spring day a party of 50 Guild members and their guests assembled in the Council Rooms of the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn for refreshments at the start of this event. The programme opened with an introductory talk by a senior member of the Honourable Society, and then the party divided in half, with some being taken on a guided tour of Lincoln's Inn and the others being taken on a tour of the nearby Sir John Soane's Museum.

Both groups reassembled for pre-lunch drinks, followed by a most enjoyable three-course meal in the magnificent Great Hall of Lincoln's Inn - overlooked by a wonderful array of portraits of past monarchs and other dignitaries. Duly sustained and fortified, the party divided once again, to be taken on the tour they had not attended in the morning.

The event was both fascinating and hugely enjoyable, thanks in the main to the excellent arrangements, guided tours, refreshments and lunch that had been organised through the Assistant Under Treasurer of Lincoln's Inn.
