Centenary Year Events and Charity Appeal

The Guild is pleased to present an exciting programme of events for the Centenary Year, as detailed below. Many of the events have been upgraded from our usual standards to reflect the importance of the year and include Champagne receptions, higher quality menus and special features, all to make the experience more memorable.

It is anticipated that our Centenary Master, Her Royal Highness Princess Anne, The Princess Royal, will, subject to commitments, be able to attend certain events, which will make the celebrations even more unforgettable.

As with events in the past, all tickets are priced at cost, with no profit being added by the Guild. In recognition of this the Guild invites you to add a donation to each ticket purchased. This will be added to our Centenary Charity Appeal, which is designed to enable the Guild to continue to present pupils at Christ's Hospital School. As you may be aware, the Guild has set a target of at least £60,000 to be raised in the Centenary Year, which will provide funding for the complete secondary education of at least one boy or girl at this unique and truly charitable school.

A suggested charitable donation per ticket is indicated for each event but this is entirely at members' discretion. By making a voluntary donation separate from the ticket price, those of you who are UK tax payers will enable the Charity to benefit from the Gift Aid scheme, which, from 6th April 2008, will increase your contribution by £2.50 for every £10.00 donated.

It is recognised that certain members already make charitable donations to the Guild on an annual basis, and we take this opportunity to thank them for this. It may be that other members would like to donate in a similar manner or to make donations on a regular basis by Standing Order.
